Jenny Eastman, Owner + Director

Hi, I’m Jenny Eastman, the Owner and Director of The Willow School. Creating this program has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I feel lucky every day to be part of this vibrant, thoughtful, and playful learning community.

I’ve worked in early childhood education for over a decade, with past roles at PeaceJam and the Colorado Department of Education, the Montessori School of Chevy Chase in Washington, D.C., and Winfield Children's House in Maine. I hold a B.A. in Politics and Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College and earned my Primary Montessori Credential from the American Montessori Society in 2019.

As an educator and school leader, I’m eI'mcially passionate about child development, social-emotional learning, nature-based education, and service learning. I believe that early childhood is a uniquely powerful time in a persoperson's, and that the values we model and the relationships we build during these years truly matter. I aim to create a school culture that is nurturing, inclusive, and wonderful.

In addition to my work at The Willow School, I’m actively involved in early childhood advocacy. I engage with state and local leaders to push for more equitable access to high-quality care and education, fair compensation for educators, and stronger systems of support for families. Creating meaningful change in our field requires both classroom-level care and systems-level action, and I’m committed to both.

At Willow, I support our teachers, develop curriculum, and work closely with families to ensure each child thrives. I still spend time in the classroom, especially with our toddlers, and I love staying connected to the everyday magic of early learning.

When I’m not at school, I'm running, swimming, learning to play the fiddle, or spending time with my husband and our two daughters. I also love laughing with my sisters and finding joy in small, beautiful moments.
