Theodora Bailey

Co-Lead Preschool Teacher

Outdoor Early Childhood Education Specilist

Hi friends, my name is Theodora Bailey, but the students know me as Miss Teddy. I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Special Education with a concentration in nature-based learning from the University of Maine Farmington. My experience ranges from inclusive classroom environments, nature-based preschools, and as a Behavioral Health Professional.

My passion for teaching revolves around nature-based education and inclusive learning environments. Utilizing the natural world as a resource, learning environment, and teacher, my goal is to help children develop a love for science, math, literacy, and the environment around them. Children who spend time learning outdoors often have more developed emotional regulation, self-help skills, and learn to be caretakers for the world around them. The students I have taught have been some of my most important teachers. Each child is unique, capable, gifted, and has something to add to the classroom community. My mission is that every child is seen, understood, and cherished for who they are so that they may learn in an environment perfectly adapted for them.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy camping, hiking, crafting, and exploring new places. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and am always picking up extra classes to learn something new. I am excited to inspire a new generation of lifelong learners!
