Late Care Teacher (Part-Time)
Hours: Approximately 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Start Date: June or September 2026
Location: The Willow School, Cumberland, Maine
At The Willow School, we believe childhood should feel grounded, connected, and supported through every part of the day—including the quiet moments at the end.
We are a Montessori-inspired, nature-based program where children spend significant time outdoors, move freely between environments, and are supported in developing independence and strong relationships.
During the school year, The Willow School follows the MSAD 51 school calendar. Summer programming runs for 8 weeks and includes late care as part of our continued support for families.
Compensation: $23/hour, depending on experience
We are seeking a dependable and nurturing Late Care Teacher to support children at the end of their day.
About the Role:
Late Care is a calm, mixed-age environment where children unwind, play, and transition home. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a slower pace and building relationships across age groups.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and engage children ages 2–5 during late care hours
Create a calm, safe, and welcoming environment
Support children with transitions at the end of the day
Communicate with families during pick-up
Ensure proper supervision and adherence to ratios
Qualifications:
Experience working with young children preferred
Responsible, punctual, and calm under pressure
Ability to work collaboratively with closing staff
