Get to Know Summer Faces

Summer is a time of rest and rejuvenation for our full-time school-year staff. During the summer months, many of our veteran teachers transition to part-time schedules, creating space for both renewal and growth.

Summer also provides Willow with a wonderful opportunity to mentor the next generation of professionals in the field of human development, including future educators, speech therapists, occupational and physical therapists, and others with a passion for working with young children.

Our experienced teachers help anchor the culture, values, and rhythm of Camp Willow, while our camp teachers have the opportunity to take on increased leadership and responsibility with the support and guidance of our veteran staff.

At Willow, we believe that providing opportunities for growth while also prioritizing rest and preventing burnout creates the healthiest environment for both children and adults. Finding that balance is what Willow is all about.

Samantha Johnson

“My name is Samantha Johnson and I am from Houlton, Maine! I graduated this past May from UMaine with my bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders (in simple terms: speech therapy); and I am headed back to UMaine to start my Masters for Speech pathology  in the fall. I am excited to come and be apart of the Willow community this summer, I am able to be outside with the children, promote curiosity, and hopefully help the Willowers to have a fun summer! During my free time outside of work, I love to read, cook, and go to the nearest body of water on a hot day.”

Samantha will be joining us full-time this summer!

“Hello!

My name is Zoe, and I’m from Cumberland, Maine. I’m going into my last year of undergraduate this fall, pursuing a BFA in Dance and a minor in Psychology at Purchase College in New York. I recently received my Certificate in Early Childhood Development this past Spring. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, dancing, being outdoors and near the coast, and hanging out with my cat, Monkey. I’m beyond excited to be at the Willow School to cultivate a whole summer of fun, curiosity, creativity, and exploration!”
